Photo and 35mm Slide Scanning and Archiving
At Slideshows of Memories, we can archive your photos, slides and film onto a CD-ROM for "back-up" purposes. Unlike a photo slideshow, the archived photos are not set up to be viewed on a television. Archiving will take the full data of the photo and store them on CD or DVD. Your files can be viewed on a PC or MAC in a traditional format. Making an archive copy of your memories can protect them from fire, flood, theft, etc. as the discs can be easily stored in a safe, safe deposit box or at a friends. Photos on CD-ROM can be sorted, searched, printed and emailed with a click of the mouse. Additionally, photos can easily be transferred from the disc to a photo slideshow in the future if desired. For added protection or sharing, the discs can be easily copied. We can scan all types of pictures, slides and film with our in-house photo scanning equipment and software. You can combine multiple VHS tapes onto a single DVD or add background music, intermingle photographs, etc. Every time you watch your videotapes, the quality is reduced slightly. The mechanical nature and magnetic format of videotape causes them to degrade over time. Typical videotapes have a shelf life of roughly 10 years. Eventually, your tape will become nothing but a snowy, static-filled memory. You can extend the life of your memories by making the conversion to DVD today!DVD's will last approximately 100 years, and the quality will be exactly the same every time you watch it. Plus, you'll get the added benefit of DVD random-access, meaning you'll be able to skip to the best parts of the video quickly. Each DVD can hold up to 2 hours of digital high-quality video, and you may optionally choose to have multiple tapes consolidated on to a single DVD.
